Natural Remedy for Yeast Infection
Some natural remedies for yeast infection include drinking enough water, eating yogurt with live cultures, drinking acidophilos milk and airing out one’s underwear in sunlight. Aloe vera on vaginal lips can help with the pain if vaginal lips swell and are tender.
Other natural cures include getting panties with a breathable cotton crotch, wearing loose pants, taking a sitz bath, taking a bath with chamomile or marigold infusion, avoiding sweet foods including fruit sugar and alcohol, showers instead of baths, douche twice daily about a week with 2 tablespoons of organic apple cider vinegar to one quart warm water. Don’t forget garlic, boric acid, tea tree oil, beer and cranberries.

Garlic does a lot of things. Garlic always surprises me with a new use, like now. In addition to scaring away all sort of garden pests, deer, some wasps, ticks, being a mild antibiotic and lowering blood pressure, garlic also has a natural antifungal that kills off yeast. Peel a fresh clove, don’t nick it, and insert it in the vagina wrapped in gauze or cheese cloth with a water based lubricant. You can even put in just the peeled clove, but expect it to come out on it’s own. A word of warning, you will be very garlic-fragrant, but your yeast infection will be gone.
Boric acid can be used as a natural remedy for yeast infections. Boric acid (yes, the white powder that kills roaches) has a mild antifungal and antiseptic. When used as a vaginal suppository in an empty capsule, it can fight even strong yeast infections.
Tea Tree Oil is a good yeast fighter in very small amounts and not in direct contact with the vagina. Tea Tree Oil is pretty widely available across the US in health food stores.
The potassium sorbate in ordinary beer is a potent fungicide. It is available with home brewing supplies and at some natural foods stores. Put about a tablespoon of the stuff in a cup of water and soak a tampon in this solution. As to getting a wet, expanded tampon into you, that’s left to the reader.
The old standby, cranberry juice is mildly effective. Cranberry juice is often used to treat urinary tract infections and since it has mild anti bacterial effects, it often helps. however, this approach should only be used in very mild cases or with something else.
It never ceases to amaze me how many things can be dealt with by simply drinking enough water. Drinking water alone will not cure your Candida, but it will help all the other things work their magic.
For temporary itch relief only, try a paste of slippery elm powder and a little water, applying as needed. Again, Aloe vera is good for pain relief only and has very little in the way of fungus fighting ability.
